Description

Prince Adam (the human version of The Beast) from Disney's Beauty and the Beast

(Yes, people - in my POV, I'm still calling him 'Adam' during in fanbase because it's my belief. So Shut Up. One comment of "his name is not" junk, and you will be ignored. I kid you not. So keep it to yourself, okay? Good.)

Well, guess who saw the new teaser trailer of BatB? 8D  That's right, I saw it... and it gives me a mind-blown. So, I decided to sketch in a sketchbook to post it on different social media links yesterday; misschristineart.tumblr.com/po…

Then today... I decided to ditigalize it with both Corel Painter and Photoshop. And whoa boy... it took me forever for using watercolor and ink brushes in different softwares. :dizzy: remake :dizzy: Finally, I finished it. I think I've fainted. Whew!

Anyway, Beast/Prince Adam has to be my top of all fave Disney Males (Basil, Pinocchio, Chicken Little, Kovu, etc). Sure, Prince Phillip and Prince Eric are cool, but Prince Adam is my all-time fave while his character development are really strong. I mean, in all media/franchise, he is one bad*ss prince - he saved Belle from the wolves, and rescued her from drowning in the ice river (after Forte tricked Belle to get a Christmas tree). He also took Gaston and Forte down to hell by himself (as David and St. Michael figure). He was even one of Sora's allies from KH 1 -2.

Also, how can you not love the human form?!? I mean, his human form was so beautiful because he was inspired by the works from both Michelangelo and Rodin (who are both part of the awesome artists in history). That's why art history is part requirement for animation, dudes - 'cause art history is ART!!! After all, we can see how Glen Keane use the Bible verse while using Rodin's Burghers and Michelangelo's sculptures as inspirations.

Since character devlopment, including his childhood flashback, I could see that he was referenced from either Walt Disney's Pinocchio or Jean Valjean... or Hades (Classic Greek Myth) and King Kong (I could've mentioned Edward Scissorhands, though it was one year before the 1991 film). In both of first and second film, Adam was trying to be strong from his past and the curse he detest (take that, Queen Elsa). Even after the enchantment, I could even imagine that he was trying to fight it from his terrible memories while trying to be a strong young man. That is why he became one of my fave characters who have complex development. Which it's why I have a thing for complicated characters, who are also my faves: Jim Hawkins, 9, the Once-ler, Victor VD, etc.....

Besides, he's one of my crushes since I was a little gal. After all, I have a thing for, well... 18th-century young men with actual long hair/pony tails. :XD: (Yeah, I'm such a nerdy person who enjoys historical settings)

In fact, in either both forms, I could see that he was inspired the later awesome Disney guys; Hercules, Aladdin, Naveen, Flynn Rider/Eugene, Wreck-it-Ralph, Kuzco, Kenai, Tarzan, Quasi, Jim Hawkins, etc..... (And no, I'm NOT counting on prissy, Sugar-coated-Stu John Smith and Prince Hans. So don't EVEN get me started it. )

To be honest, his human form (along with Jim Hawkins) really inspired me to draw most male characters, especially my OCs. And still do. ;) If it weren't for his human form, especially the Transformation scene, then none of my OCs from my stories would be existed.

Furthermore, the pic was based on the drawing ariel by BriannaCherryGarcia as reference but different brushes and background.

Hope to see the next trailer of the BatB remake, while giving it a chance. Enjoy.
