Description
Priscilla Mullins from Rankin-Bass' Thanksgiving special, "Mouse of the Mayflower."
I always thought her character and design are very interesting, which is why I drew this.
For those of you don't know, Priscilla Mullins was based on a historical figure (who was known as Priscilla Alden, the wife of John Alden) from the Mayflower history. Though, from the special, the relationship between John and Priscilla was actually from this poem I heard, "The Courtship of Miles Standish" by Henry Longfellow (I haven't read it yet, but I would like to).
For the retro eyes, I was inspired by the works from Gabby Zapata and Steph Lew on social media (Instagram), along with Fred Moore, Lorelay Bove, etc...
Overpainted with gouache on this pic (after I colored it with markers). Edited the original pic with Photoshop. Hope you enjoy.
