Forgive 9

*Warning: This is a rant for this stamp. If my writing scares your pants off, then I suggest you pack your things and go. But if you take my writings as a personal attack, then you have problems. Okay, on with the show.

This is a stamp to forgive 9 for his mistakes in the film. (I know some of you guys are going to say to me that most stitchpunks can't produce tears. But this is my version in this fandom, so it's not a big deal).

Why? Here’s why;

Yes, he was born as several-hour-old curious stitchpunk, while he’s new to the world in the film. BUT, he admits for making mistakes, before he apologize. Now that’s human, dudes.

 So, why making this again, since I already did the one from last time? Well, it’s been like 5 years, but I think its time to express how I REALLY feel, since my mind is getting a lot developed during my early adulthood.

 You see, during the fandom, most “9” (movie) fans treated 9 as garbage. Why? Because ever since 9 let the Machine killed 2, they keep calling him a murder in a ridiculous way. :facepalm: Seriously? What the hell? Who puts them to criticize?

 What really still bothers me is that most people treat 5, 6, 2, and the Twins that they’re the “only best characters in the film,” while neglecting 9.

 Oh, and it got a LOT “better” in a “nicer” way. Fans wanted to make sure that people would “never” make mistakes again in reality.  :sarcastic: Really? Oh, and another thing; they keep calling 9 like this:

“9 is a n00b”

“9 is a murderer”

“9 is stupid”

“9 is an emo/bitch”

“9 is a Gary-stue”

:iconwrongplz:

Bull GUANO. What the heck? What’s the point about it? What is the big deal? Why? What is the deal just because 9 made simple mistakes? What? We can’t “literally” make a mistake so everything is “normal?”

 Oh yeah, tell everyone that they should not make any kind of mistakes again, just so perfection is a good thing. :icondrakken2plz: *facedeskpalm* Oh, the agony.

 News flash, people, I have to brutally honest to you all; You ALL make mistakes like 9 did. You all made mistakes in reality, and still do. Even breaking your mother’s favorite vase is more serious than waking the Machine. If you said you “never make mistakes,” then how do you explain about your “rough days” in school or the arguments with your parents? Hm? If you said you never make mistakes, then considered your spirits very arrogant (or some of you will end up like Helga Pataki’s “perfect” sister, Olga).

 Before you guys are going to excuse me that I was taking it seriously because of those “jokes” that I mentioned in quote, including the n00b joke, here’s a thing: I understand some of them are just jokes. However, it still peeves me that most fans took them seriously, and then make 9 that he “literally is.” :iconbeastfacepalmplz: Unbelievable. Seriously, it’s getting old, kids. REALLY old.

 I really don’t want to be rough, but I have to be honest if I’m going to explain everything. Here’s a thing: some fans are missing the point of this film. AND, I'm really tired how much underserved hate that 9 gets.

 9, the main character, represents as humanity, while his personality was supposed to be human, despite he’s a stitchpunk (while the Chancellor, who was a human leader, is a true monster with hunger power). The theme of the film was about the hope of humanity in the empty world, and against the destruction of mankind. 9 wanted to change things and willing to save others, while 1 refused.

 I mean, what would happen without 9? Just 8 dolls in the movie? This isn’t “Akira,” dudes. 8B This is “the” 9 in the title movie that we’re talking about. Oh, wait! Besides 2, 9 is the "only" stitchpunk who believes in 6's drawings of the Source, while others don't. So if it weren't for 9, then we'll NEVER know about the Source, now would it? 8B

 Yes, 9 made a lot of mistakes. But come on, give this guy a break! He’s been here like few hours after he awoke. Seriously, this undeserved hate on 9 is getting old. It’s like treating 9 as the Ugly Duckling… or Carrie White (either the 70’s or 2013 version) in the fandom. u_u

 I mean, you wouldn’t be mad at a new puppy/kitten that you’ve just got, after it made mistakes in its’ new home, would you?

 You know, let me tell you something that my professor discuss in animation class:

My animation professor told me that when it comes with animating character, he said using flaws is a good thing. Why? Because it’s a good thing to let the audience understand him/her. Perfection is boring (and still do).

 Making mistake is normal and part of human. Also, there’s a trailer of the new DreamWorks film, “Home.” In the trailer, Tip said to Ooh that “nobody’s perfect… your mistakes is what makes you human.” You go, Tip. And I can’t wait to see this movie as a potential film. =D

 Now some of you guys were wondering why 9 is my favorite. Why? Was it because he’s a main character? Not really. 9 is my fave because besides that he’s human, he’s very determined to save others with his own intelligence. AND, during the film, I have a sympathy toward him that he’s a misfit character. That happens about how I felt on my other fave misfit characters who were outcast by people their hometown, such as Chicken Little from Disney 2005 film, Oscar from “Shark Tale,” Charlie Brown from “The Peanuts,” and even Victor Van Dort from “Corpse Bride.” I always have sympathy toward these type of characters. Just like Tim Burton has sympathy toward misunderstood characters in general, such as Stain Boy and Edward Scissorhands.

 You know, even though I can’t find the video (I think it was sadly deleted), I did remember what Shane Acker and Elijah Wood both said:

9 doesn't know who he is, who are the characters, or what the Machine is; but he has inquisitiveness from himself, and he has the courage from him that the others don't have.

Yes, that’s probably why Elijah Wood was chosen to voice this main character because of similar personality, since his role on Frodo from “LotR” series and Mumble from “Happy Feet.” Heck, that’s probably why later on after 9, Elijah was chosen to voice Wirt in “Over the Garden Wall.”

 So, am I done? Hmmmmmm...... :iconimthinkingplz: No. There’s more to explain about this, during this rant. So here we go;

*Fans called 9 a “n00b.”

 Do you mean by as a "newbie," or a modern definition of "lack of intelligence? :iconbeamanplz:

For your information, he’s NOT a n00b, and he’s NOT stupid. Sure, he can be naïve sometimes, but that doesn’t mean he’s dumb. I know in the Commentary that the director expressively said “9, you idiot,” but I’m sure he didn’t mean that. In fact, the crew said he’s inquisitive earlier.

 In fact, everyone in the whole world can be naïve, and that’s human nature.

I can be naïve sometimes because I can take most things literally, due to my oversensitivity. Heck, I act before I think sometimes. It happens to all of us. You’ll have to accept your flaws… and you’ll get used to it.

 First of all, 9 is truly intelligent. As a matter of fact, he’s very clever (Hell, even WAY smarter than Ariel and Frozen’s Elsa).  Just like 2, he’s very curious and inquisitive because he asked the other stitchpunk dolls so many questions. He even save 7 to distract the Seamstress with his lightbulb as a fake stitchpunk. That’s clever, dude!

 Oh, and he create his own lightbulb, before 5 commented “2 would be impress.” That’s creativity, kids. Everyone knows that.

 Second of all, he didn’t know that the Machine he awoke was the B.R.A.I.N. He thought that the talisman was some of like putting a puzzle piece together. The scene of waking the Machine was supposed to be based off the idea from either “Adam and Eve” or “Pandora’s Box.” If it weren’t for the Machine in the film, than how do you explain the storyline? Come on, ever see “Treasure Planet,” the part where Jim Hawkins opens the map in Doppler’s house…. or put the map on the ground to open the portal in TP?

 Sure, 5 could’ve explain to 9 earlier what that factory is, if he said they can’t go there because of 1’s rules. So, maybe it’s 5’s fault for not explaining to 9? :shrug: I’m just saying. Sure, 5 or 6 could’ve explains more to 9, but they were shunned by couple of bullies, 8 and 1.

 Also, ever watch one of Pixar’s short films, “For the Birds,” which it was released along with “Monsters Inc.?” The tall blue bird tried to be nice to the other birds on the wire as a guest, but the small birds poke fun at him because of his “character.” They even want him to get out. The moral was that you should try be respectful and polite to the newcomers.

 Like I said before; 9 just awoke in at least several hours, while he’s new to the world. He can’t know everything in the whole world. Heck I can’t know everything either, so it’s NOT a big deal. As Mickey Mouse assured to Ludwig Von Drake in “House of Mouse” series;

 “You can’t know everything. “

 Period.

 Oh, and FYI; the only dumbest of all stitchpunks was 8, because he was supposed to be brawn over brain. And that’s the truth.

*Fans called him a “murderer”

:iconhadesangryplz::icontwilightsparklenoplz:

:iconratiganinvalidplz: :iconspikerageplz: Okay, now I’m really p*ssed off.

9 is NOT a murderer! Who killed the stitchpunks? The Machine, a.k.a The B.R.A.I.N.

 The Machine KILLED 2 with its talisman in the first place, while 9 watched in horror. 9 was shocked in horror, and it traumatized him. It happens in the war when a soldier saw his friend died in person. My mother saw our old dog died in person 5 years ago, while she was shocked in horror before she cried. I kid you NOT!

 Also, there’s a true difference between letting someone get killed by an accident, AND want to kill someone on purpose, kids. Here’s the facts:

-A person who let someone else get killed as an accident does NOT make him/her a murderer. He/she could blame oneself for the accident, but knew they didn’t do it on purpose.

-Wanting to kill someone, or pushing another out of a cliff, makes him/her a murder and that’s purpose.

In the “Lion King” films series, young Simba saw his father got butchered by the herd of wildebeest, and then blamed himself that it’s his fault... until he realized that Mufasa was killed by Scar when he became an adult. Also, Nuka was killed by stumbled trees, after he choose to chase Simba, and then Zira abusively blamed her own son, Kovu, for letting him get killed.

Did 9 push 2 to the Machine? No. The Machine grabbed the piece of soul out of 2’s body with its talisman, since it was created with hatred toward humanity.

Oh, and look! 9 even tried to save 5, who is like a brother to him, from the Machine! I kid you not. But 1 blocked 9 from saving 5, telling him “there’s nothing we can do.”

Besides the Machine, who sends 2 out to die? 1 did. Why? Because he didn’t want to hear or see any research/question from 2 about the Source, which it has similar markings from 6’s drawing. He knew it all along, and was hiding from his group. That’s why he made a poor excuse to 9, said “2 choose his own path” to scout.

 Huh, funny, the only thing people are mistaken is that they should’ve done that on Elijah Wood’s other role as Frank the psycho-killer, in a 2012 remake horror film, “Maniac.” Oh wait, “Maniac” was three years after “9” movie. How silly of me.
:icon030bobplz: :sarcasm:

*Fans called him a “Gary-Stu”

:iconblossisnotamusedplz:

  Really? First, some fans made a joke on 9 “to murder us all.” Now they called him a Gary-Stu?

:icononthisplanetplz: Who puts them in a planet?

 :icondashfacehoofplz: Oi... Is it me, or does the people sound like they’re jumping a shark… or a Cat beast?

 Okay, first off, how the heck 9 is a Gary-Stu? How? Was it because he was the “chosen one” as a protagonist for the hope of humanity, while he was voiced by Elijah Wood?

 What the heck? It sounds like calling Frodo Baggins a “Gary-Stu” just because he was a chosen one to be a ring-bearer to go to Mount More (which he’s NOT because he has flaws, dang it… not to mention the possession by the Ring).

 9 is NEVER a Gary-Stu/Marty-Stu, and never will be. Gary-Stu is a “perfect” character with pure beauty, too much manly, a lot more fighter with 1000 different weapons, and knew everything more in “God mode,” as a “male” Mary-Sue.  If you’re calling a character a Sue, then you’re calling it to a wrong character.

 According to the Commentary, the director and the crew said that they want 9 to make a mistake; he saw the other 8 dolls as a family, but as an awkward person himself he’s isn’t part of them. They didn’t want 9 to be a perfect character. They are trying to remind the audience that he represent all of us that we make mistakes in reality (even though we were not trying to hurt anyone).

Ever heard of a hero’s journey since the storytelling of Greek/Roman myths? No? Then you better put your notes down if you’re going to write a better story.

 You see, a hero’s journey is about what is a hero’s tasks are and why he/she is represent as an archetype in the storyline. It’s not a cliché; it’s the idea of how a hero must face risks. We’ve seen this type of idea in so many Greek/Roman tales: The Odyssey, The Aenied, Perseus and Andromeda, Theseus and the Minotaur, and so on.

 Here’s the source, analyzing “A Hero’s Journey” by none other than Joseph Campbell:

www.thewritersjourney.com/hero…

Oh, what’s this? A hero was introduced in an ordinary world, and meeting a mentor? Does THESE ring a bell in 9 film? 8BB

 That’s probably why the director and his crew got these type of ideas as references. In fact, I could see the plan to distract the Seamstress by 9, was similar from Perseus confronting the Gorgon, Medusa, in the 1981 version of the film, “Clash of Titans.”

 Just because 9 gets mostly roles AND was supposed to be a chosen one, doesn’t mean he’s a Gary-Stu. The Scientist’s message in the music/mechanical box said that 9 as the hope of humanity. He explained why he created each stitchpunk dolls after the Machine was flawed with the lack of humanity.

Hercules was the chosen one by his father, Zeus, in a Disney film to become a true hero. Taran from Disney’s “Black Cauldron” was a chosen one to be an assistant pig keeper before he became a better hero. The Last Unicorn from Rankin/Bass film was a chosen one to find the other unicorns, if she is brave enough to face the Red Bull. Twilight Sparkle was the chosen one by Princess Celestia to learn about the true meaning of friendship AND becoming a better student, before she became a wise princess (which it’s why she’s my fave even more). So don’t make that as an excuse just because they’re chosen one.

If most people called 9 a “Gary-Stu,” then what their “9 OCs” that they created? Hm? Well, whatever you do, check over your 9-OCs, and make sure they don’t have a Sue-ish quality. Problem?

:iconstudmuffinplz: You mad?

*Fans called 9 either “emo” and “bitch”

:iconapplejackreally::iconbeastplz: :iconratiganunamusedplz::iconserioussquidwardplz:

:icondoublefacepalmplz: (*long moaning, similar to Ms. Hannighan’s in 2014 remake, “Annie.” )

 (Ugh, I really wish I have similar Earth power like from one of my fave characters, Terra, from “Teen Titan” series has, so I can bring the whole rocks out of the ground to rumble. :devil: )

Okay, NOW they’re really jumping a Cat Beast or the Wing Beast here.

 First of all, how come 9 is being “bitchy” in the film? Would arguing with 1 count? Second, how come he was being emo? Because of saying to 7 “they all died because of me” before facing the Machine?

 Seriously, what really peeved me is that most fans made 9 that he acts like “an arrogant, selfish doll,” letting others died, in either fanfics or fanarts.

:iconangryplz:

BALDERDASH!

 Sure, he did let others get hurt, but that doesn’t make him a selfish person. In general, 9 would NEVER purposely let others get killed. Since he met 2, he does care with others. Even to 1 or 8 who are bullies to him and his friends, he does care.

 Sure, 9 can probably act harsh or snarky toward on 1, while being stiff-necked/stubborn, but that doesn’t mean he’s a spoiled brat. Most people can act snarky or rough on others, including bullies. Trust me, I can act snarky and rough sometimes, with a wry sense of humor, while I’m being stubborn by nature (even though I’m not trying to hurt others). But that doesn’t mean I’m a cruel person. Even though my family and I tried to be polite to others, we sometimes get screwed up.  It happens all the time.

 The only thing 9 doesn’t seem to tolerate was hypocrisy, including those who are being cowards. That’s probably why he made an offensive comment to 1, calling him a coward and a “blind man, guided by fear” (best line ever). What do you expect him to be? Be “cute and adorable” and act super nice, like Beetlejuice’s brother, Donnie?

 9 were just wondering what these strange markings from the talisman were about, and why 2 were out from the Sanctuary. Sure, 9’s tone of voice can act a little childish when he asked the Twins about the talisman, but he doesn’t whine like a typical crybaby. He just wants the truth.

 As for “emo” thing… you’re talking about the similar personality from a so-called Princess-of-all-Sues, Bella Swan’s, who is an emo bitch? You know, even though I’m trying to understand what emo-personality is (the personality/trait, NOT the stereotypical look and depression), I can tell one character as an example: Elsa from “Frozen.”

Now, don’t take it personal, Frozen-fans. I mean, I do like “Frozen.” However, for Elsa, she can be a bit emo. Why? Her “lonely” personality was hard to understand. Besides running away and saving herself from invaded guards, all she did was crying too much without solving problems, and always being “lonely” while her sister, Anna, wants to be close to her. Not to mention her “Let It Go” song was a bit inconsistent to her character. And despite being little “lonely” character, she’s happy when she said to Anna to “stay away” from her, just so her sister can be safe (Umm…. Okay?).

But did 9 run away just because he made mistakes? No. He could’ve, but no. His main goal is to know what happen to the world, and why the Machine’s beasts destroyed the humans. Oh, and didn’t you hear what he said to 1 after the Seamstress captured 7 and 8? He told everyone “no more hiding,” while he tries to move on. And when he went toward 2’s corpse, 9 said “I can’t let this happen.”

In Tim Burton’s “Alice in Wonderland,” Alice had been struggled herself to choose what she should do, especially facing the Jabberwocky (which it was supposed to be the symbol of the Devil), after most people, including her mother, told her what they want her to do.  BUT she didn’t run away. She remembers her childhood memories, and finally remembered what her true personality is, along with her inspirations/love from her late father. So, she took her blue-caterpillar friend’s advice, and then decided to face the Monster with 6 impossible things. At the end, after she came home, she became an independent young woman, and decided to follow her late-father’s footsteps. =D

That’s why it makes 9 more awesome after I explained so much. Why? Because his character development is very complicated/well-complexed (WHICH is a good thing), since Jean Valjean from "Les Miserables," Beast/Adam BatB, and even The Once-Ler from "The Lorax" (2012 version).

If you want to want to make “emo-bitch jokes,” why not on either Frank from “Maniac” remake, Light Yagami from “Death Note,” or Erik from “Love Never Dies?” They’re just bunch of psycho crybabies who they “really” need some help (I mean, “really” need some help).

9 is not. ‘Cause he’s one bad*ss stitchpunk who doesn’t give a d*mn on hypocrisy and cowardice from 8th Circle of Hell, while his personality is like becoming from Adam to David from the Bible. Amen.

:iconnoddingtwilightplz:

*Conclusion:

Whew! That is a very big long rant I ever made.

Should’ve said that like 5-6 years ago, even though the fandom had many issues back then. However, after 5 years, I just hope the fandom improved. If not… well, what else can I say about? :shrug:

 Huh, if Elijah Wood, 9’s voice actor, seen these type of nonsense hate on 9…. he’ll probably give the “fans” to this:

media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m6tehj…

 Yep, that would totally happen. XD

 Well, there are several more things that I want to say before I go.

To people, PLEASE READ

Before you guys are going to criticize me about how I’m “praising” my fave character over 5 or 6, here’s a thing;

 I am NOT here to make people angry for defending the main character. I am here to express my feelings through your earthquake.

I know there are others who are going to say “Well, it’s everyone’s opinions,” and I understand. But that doesn’t mean I have to agree with them. I have a right to tell what I feel and sharing my opinions/emotions, while stating points. If my words offended you, then I suggest you to walk away and move along.

 You know what happened before? Here’s a thing:

I had been receive few oversensitive comments from few people (couple of them were 6 fans), taking my words as personal attack, after I defended few characters that they don’t like on my pics. I even had been criticize by a person how I’m “praising” the film over the other. U_U

 Well don’t take my words as personal attacks because that would upset me… and offended me. I have hot-temper and stressfulness, so don’t take my words as personal attacks. If you do, then you’ll have a problem.

 And don’t even give me a 50-feet long comment to prove me how “wrong” I am. Just don’t. That would really upset me… and lead your posts to dramatic butthurts.

 Oh, and one more thing: No, I didn’t watch the “whole” Russian subtitles on “9,” and I’m not really into that. So don’t.

As a stubborn-by-nature gal, my thoughts won’t be change, and that’s that. Yes, I’m being rough, but that happens to our awesome professor in college, who is also being rough to students as a tough teacher. So get used to it. Period.

Okay, now I’m done.

I always liked 9’s character since I saw the movie on Netflix and still do because 9 has good character development and even tho I like 5, 6 and the twins, I like 9 better, along with 7 and 8 because of their personalities and that’s why I love 9 because it’s one of Elijah Wood’s best roles since Mumble from Happy Feet, Frodo from Lord of the Rings and Spyro the Dragon, and that’s why Elijah Wood is one of most amazing actors, Elijah Wood FTW
