Chocolate Merman

Willy Wonka (from Burton version of "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory") as a Chocolate Merman. Part of my "belated" Mermay drawings.

Even though May is already over, I’m STILL doing MerMay because of my list I wrote. Nuff said. Anyway…

Since I had been planning to do Burtonized characters as merfolks in a year, I always thought of Willy Wonka (from 2005 verison of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) as a “chocolate merman” (based on the “Chocolate Snake” from the “Fairly Odd Parents” pilot). vignette4.wikia.nocookie.net/f…

So, here it is. I thought it would be cool to see a chocolatier as a “chocolate merman.”

However, it is different than I imagined - I gave Willy a sleeveless jacket and fingerless purple gloves as an undersea clothes. (even though he looks like Mello from Death Note anime, which it was ironic because Mello was a chocolate eater). Even though we understand that Mr. Wonka was not really a “touching person” in the movie, I wanted to make sure that his merman-clothing are not "feminine" like). Also, the candy cane became a combination of two sea-shells: long spiral sea shell and shark’s eye shell.
