NOTE: Before you read this entry, PLEASE read this:

Warning: This involves criticism and expressing honest opinions. Please DO NOT take this entry too seriously. If you love this film, that's fine. But, please, try not to get too offensive about this. Why? Because I am NOT trying to offend everyone. If this entry offends you, then walk away and move along. So don't take it as a personal attack, kids. Thank you.

All right, on with a show:

That’s right, folks. Even though I’ve should’ve write this later. But you know what? I think it’s time.

Now, BEFORE you guys are going to take it seriously… let me say this to you; Yes, I do like “Frozen.”

The concept art was visually stunning, especially Claire Keane’s works, and the CGI animation is still awesome. Heck, I really like Kristoff and Sven better from the film. Yes, it won the Oscar for the “Best Animated Film” (I WILL talk about the issues of Oscars later, folks, since I’m not completely aware with Award Shows anymore).

However, the storyline is still weak to me, while there’s too much stuff (such as the theme and main idea) in this film. The songs are okay (I love the first one in the Title opening, and I admit “Let it Go” was pretty good), but not that great.

I just find that the film was trying to be too hard as a combination of “Tangled” and “Wreck-it-Ralph” just so people would love it. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still a good film, but not that great (and definitely not the "Best Animated Film" to me).

NOW,  in this entry, I would like to talk about the issue that has to do with this film. And that would be... The Fandom.

I admit, due to my guilty pleasure for the fandom, I actually like Jelsa (Jack Frost+Elsa). But besides that… let’s just say that Frozen fandom was way too much.

How so?

I mean seriously, the fandom was everywhere on the Internet! There’s too many subject of “Let it Go” since it’s a hit Disney song, even on Youtube (Not to be rude or anything, but are there any songs to listen to, like “The Princess and the Frog,” “Tangled,” or “Enchanted”?).

Also on Tumblr, there are too many blogs on this site. :noes: I’m not kidding. 8B

If you type “Frozen” or “Disney Frozen” on Search, then here it is: It’s everywhere. Too much blogs, such as “do you want to build a snowman.” I admit, with guilty pleasure, I really like the blogs of concept art since I’m into the art of animation. But still, it’s way too much.

And you know what’s really funny? It should’ve been “Frozenlr” instead of "tumblr." :/

I mean, d__n. It’s like “man, I want Wreck-it-Ralph and Tangled back” since Frozen fandom is taking over the Internet. In fact, it's like I want Elsa from "Frankenweenie" back, since Frozen's Elsa is getting more fans. 8B

Now, I know some of you guys are going to say “well, it’s everyone else’s interests” because of the fandom. However, it’s not just this, it’s this:

 1. While most fans were talking about “Frozen”… they didn’t seem to talk about the original fairy-tale, called “The Snow Queen.”

No? Never heard of it? Well, let me explain to you all; it was originally written by Hans Christen Andersen, who wrote “The Little Mermaid,” “Thumbelina,” “The Little Match Girl,” and “The Ugly Duckling.”

“The Snow Queen” was about two children who are best friends: Kai and Gerda. However, when the Snow Queen uses her magic to pierce both the eyes and heart on the young boy, Kai walks away from Gerda and follow the Snow Queen. So Gerda went out on a journey to get her best friend back.

Also, there was a Russian animated film, which it was one of my childhood memories since I was a little girl. And I highly recommend to watch it. Here's the clip:

I know that most Disney Films, including “Tangled” and “Beauty and the Beast,” changes the scenes from fairy-tales/novels, and that’s fine. However, if “Frozen” was loosely based on the idea of “The Snow Queen”… then maybe it would’ve been a good idea that Elsa steals Anna’s boyfriend away, while Anna and Kristoff went out to the journey. That would be twisted for sibling rivalry. XD

Also, I wished they could’ve done on Elsa’s character better; make it similar to the “original” Snow Queen’s character. You know, being snarky and sarcastic, but spunky (like Tinkerbelle’s for example). XD

Now, I know Elsa’s character is very complex and that’s fine, but sometimes she can be a bit, well… emo-ish for her personality (If you know what I mean). In the fairy tale, however, the Snow Queen is a b*tchy with cold heart… but still interesting. Why? Because she’s a Snow Queen, kids, that’s why. :XD:

I mean, who says Disney Heroine can’t be snarky while trying to be “super-nice”?

Look at Esmeralda (Hunchback of Notre Dame), Maggie (Home on the Range), Mittens (Bolt), Audrey (Atlantis) and even Calhoun (Wreck-it-Ralph). They’re snarky with a wry sense of humor and rude sometimes, but still have a good heart on the inside. Even Cinderella is sarcastic with humor in the trilogy films.

2. Many people praise this “new” popular film way too much, treating it as a cure to Disney, while dissing other films so we won’t mention about them again.

 T____________T

A bit low, don't you think?

I don’t want to be spoiled, but I got to be honest here:

I really dislike that many people praise this “Frozen” film as a “cure” to Disney, while dissing other Disney Films so we can never mention again. I know everybody has their own thoughts, but what really bother’s me is that people praise it as a “perfect masterpiece.” Here’s this: I don’t care if it’s popular or “perfect” masterpiece.

Furthermore, there are OTHER Disney films to look at, besides “Frozen”: Brother Bear, The Emperor’s New Groove, 101 Dalmation, Hercules, Fantasia 2000, Chicken Little, Meet the Robinsons, and even The Black Cauldron.

Why can’t we give them some love? Was it because they’re not good enough as “Princess films” ? Come on, Walt Disney did Disney films/cartoons in different genres than Princesses stuff (Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, and Snow White).

Sure, every body has their own thoughts, but does that mean these films “deserve” to be disregard? No, because just to be honest, I have a right to have my own taste. In fact, I bet boys likes “Chicken Little” and “Bolt” better than “Frozen” because they’re into action and alien-stuff.

Also, what about other animated films from last year, such as “Epic” and “The Croods"? There’s more to that than just “Frozen.”

Don’t  get me wrong, I like this film. BUT if talking about this same fandom over and over again, in everyday, it would be boring. I mean, sure, I used the same fandoms everyday, such as Tim  Burton’s films and Spongebob. But I also looked up to see different fandoms, such as “Digimon” and “One Piece.”

Trying something different is a good thing. If you’re feeling bored, try something else.

3. Fans says something like this during “Frozen” fandom:

*They said it’s “a first Disney film that involves sisters.”

-Actually, no. In fact, “Lilo and Stitch” was also mentioned about sister relationship, between Nani and Lilo, while the main idea is about “ohana” means “family.” Also, there are other films about sibling relationship that came before, such as “Brother Bear,” because it’s about love and the meaning of brothers (Brotherhood rules!).

If Frozen is about "sisters," then they should've focus on the relationship more, instead of just shutting Anna down without conversation or having true love.

*They said Elsa is the “first Disney Queen.”

-Um, no. The Evil Queen from “Snow White” IS the first Disney Queen, in a very first Disney animated feature film. Also, there are other queens/empress that came before that. There’s Hera from “Hercules” (ruler of Mount Olympus, of course), Queen Elinor  from “Brave,” Iracebeth the Red Queen and Mirana the White Queen from Burton’s “Alice in Wonderland” (there’s sister rivalry, folks), and even Sally the Pumpkin Queen from “The Nightmare Before Christmas.”

Sorry, Queen Elsa, but being last isn't bad. 8P

4.  When people expressed their own thoughts that it’s not a great film with several reasons, they get offended by “Frozen” fans because of having honest opinions.

So, in that case, what else do you want people to say? “Good film” and that’s it?

Guys, you have to understand; not everyone is going to like the same thing as you did. In fact, NOT everyone is going to agree what you think.

Everybody has their own opinions, and there’s no reason to defend a film that is not important. To be honest, I don’t find this film that important, and I don’t find it best, so there’s no need to get offensive about it.

Also, they weren’t trying to hurt other people’s feeling, because some people who are not “Frozen” fan are actually nice. But if you think their opinions are “offending” you, then I suggest you walk away and move along.

In fact, there are people who like this film, but criticize the flaws of this film because they explain what’s wrong and what should’ve done better. Now don’t take things seriously, kiddies.

Just because people were pointing out the films with their own thoughts, DOESN’T mean they’re bashing it. Bashing is when kids said like “Oh, this movie ‘suc. I hate it” without explaining the reasons why.

Did I bashed the films? No. I criticize them while explaining the reasons why, while expressing my own thoughts. That’s expressive and opinionated.

If you guys really love this film so much, that’s fine. But remember this, it’s better to respect other people’s opinions, instead of just forcing them down everybody’s throat. Trust me, folks; if you do with offensive comments, then it’s not healthy for your mind. So try to respect other people’s thoughts, okay.

I like “Frozen,” but the fandom is way too much while they have enough love from everybody. So, I’m going to stick with the underdogs from Disney, such as “Home on the Range” and “Treasure Planet,” because they need some love, while I’m sticking with “Tangled” and “Beauty and the Beast.”

Tune in next time to see another episode of "Theory of Foulness."
