The Lorax

"I am the Lorax, and I speak for the trees!" - The Lorax

Well, March 2nd was Dr. Seuss's Birthday (and it had been few years since the movie's release). So I wanted to draw this week to dedicate Dr. Seuss.

The Lorax is one of my fave characters in the 2012 movie, along with Once-ler, Ted, and Grandma Norma. He was voiced by the Renaissance Man, Danny Devito (who had been in Tim Burton's films, such as the Penguin from "Batman Returns," Disney's "Hercules" as Phil, and both Mr. Wormwood and the Narrator in his own film, "Matilda.")

The pic was based on this shot as a reference: ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I… Wanted to make this pic more "artistic," without outlines. So yeah, it's more like a "speed painting," if you ask me.

Then again, the pose from the screenshot almost reminded me of the sculpture of "Nude Balzac" by Auguste Rodin (one of my fave artists).
